Waiting For The Lord
Our life is a long vigil, waiting for the Lord to be revealed
in all His glory. We wait with longing and with 'joyful hope',
for his Spirit is with us, and we know that God
is faithful to his promises.

My Dear Friends,
Some six months ago or so, we conducted a very important Stewardship Renewal campaign. The parish finance committee have waited until now to publish the results so that a more accurate assessment could be made of our 'giving'.
The results are really very encouraging and are no doubt, of interest to many of you. A breakdown of the figures are available in the church porch. You will see that we have increased our giving by about 33%. Such wonderful generosity will go some way to maintaining our church and its outreach. Thank you very much indeed. Let us always strive to thank God for his generosity towards us.
The "Walk With Me" Advent meditation books are available in the church porch. They contain a beautiful series of daily prayers and meditations for you to use during Advent. They are on sale at a £1 a piece. I commend them to you most highly as part of your preparation for Christmas.
This weekend we shall be taking up the annual collection for the "Sick and Retired Priests' Fund". This is one of the most important collections that we take throughout the whole year. A Catholic Priest serves the Church until he is 75 and then is cared for by the people he has served, that's you and me. Last year our diocese helped over 90 priests but the shortfall in funds was huge. Please be as generous as you can be to support these good men and to show your appreciation for the love and care that they have shown to us.
God Bless.
P.S. Our "Star" shines brightly over our Church to lead us to the Christ child - let us journey prayerfully to the manger.
