THE SPIRIT OF GOD'S LOVE.

We celebrate the coming of the Spirit of God's love on the Church.

Holy Hour and Benediction

My Dear Friends,

Thursday of this week is the feast of the Ascension and a Holy Day of Obligation. We should all be at Mass on that day, and as always there will be three Masses offered here at St Gregory the Great.

There will be Mass at 9 am in the morning, which will be followed almost immediately by a Sung Mass at 10 am which the children of St Swithun Wells will attend (it is always a real joy to welcome the children to church); finally there will be a further Mass at 8 pm.

Today also sees the start of our 1st Holy Communion season and also this week we are looking forward to welcoming Bp Alan, who will be with us on Friday evening to administer the Sacrament of Confirmation. Please pray for all our young people as they take these important steps in their Christian lives.

'The Da Vinci Code' movie has now opened for business and has received fairly appalling reviews! Even so are you ready to respond to what it has to say? Whilst the plot of the book challenges many aspects of our Catholic faith and life, its release is also an opportunity for evangelisation.

To help us to respond to that opportunity I intend to have a special video evening in the hall to help us debunk the myth, so why not come along? If I can get the equipment to work (!) this will be on Sunday at 7.30pm - so please listen for an announcement!

Have a truly blessed week,

THE GOSPEL OF LIFE

The church of the Sacred Heart at Ruislip Manor are once again hosting a series of talks on Tuesday evenings on issues that lie at the heart of our Catholic Faith. More details may be found in the porch.

APF MISSION BOXES

Thank you so much for your kind welcome last weekend. Well over 35 boxes were taken. I even had to rush back to Mill Hill after lunch to collect some more! I am particularly grateful to Mrs Thornton for taking on the task of co-ordinator. Please continue to pray for the work of the missions and be assured of our prayers for you. Fr Kevin Hughes.

DON'T FORGET REFRESHMENTS IN THE CHURCH HALL AFTER THE MORNING MASS ON SUNDAY.
