The Purification of the Temple

Christ, The Wisdom Of God

Today, we celebrate the foolsihness of God
that is wiser than any human thinking:
the utter folly of his love that allowed the
destruction of the temple of the body of his Son.

My Dear Friends,

I would like to begin this week by drawing your attention to our Wednesday morning Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. It is good to see a number of us taking the opportunity to 'step out' of our busy lives to spend some time in prayer before Our Lord in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar. Naturally it is difficult to be there for the entire hour and a half, but do consider slipping it to church if only for a few minutes. I feel sure we can all find a few moments for the Lord!

My grateful thanks to you all for your generosity last weekend. We managed to collect over £720 to send on to CAFOD. Although this is rather less than last year (£900) it is still a wonderful amount. Thank you!

Finally, as we begin to move into the second part of the Lenten season, now is the time to start preparing our Easter confession. Times, dates and venues of special reconciliation services will be available next week.

Have a truly blessed week,

YOUTH GROUP

There will be no youth group next weekend as it is Mothering Sunday. During the course of the next few weeks a notice will appear in the porch with details of meetings for the next few months. Please keep an eye out for this. New members always welcome. So if you are in Year 8 or above do think about coming along to the next session.

BANNUEUX PILGRIMAGE

join us on the Feast of Pentecost for a few days of peace and tranquillity among the pine trees, at the Virgin of the Poor in Belgium. 2nd / 8th June. Cost £345 fully inclusive of travel, hotel (full board), and insurance. For details ring Maria Hare on 01895 420753

PLANNED GIVING

The new envelopes for the coming year are available in the porch this weekend. Please note that they are in alphabetic order! If you usually have envelopes but do not see yours there, phone Gillian at the presbytery from Mon. to Thurs. mornings and things will be sorted out.

DON'T FORGET REFRESHMENTS IN THE CHURCH HALL AFTER THE MORNING MASS ON SUNDAY.
