The Lord Who Teaches Us His Ways

Like Jonah, Christ was sent to preach repentance.
He calls us to change our ways. We are not to
become engrossed in the world, but to believe
the good news and live for the Kingdom of God.

My Dear Friends,

I hope you will forgive me for focussing on one or two practical things this weekend?

First of all the wall heaters; please if you are to warm during Mass either move away from the heater or lift the small cover and switch it of from there. Switching of the power at the wall socket is VERY HARMFUL INDEED and is one of the reasons why we had to replace three units last year.

The Catholic newspapers! These are on sale in the porch every week, but are very poorly received. At present we sell 2 copies of the Universe and one each of the Irish Post and Irish World! If there is no real market for these papers I think it is rather pointless to continue buying them in. I will monitor the situation over the next few weeks to see what happens but will not discontinue them without letting you know.

Towards the end of last year our local representative at Churches Together in Ruislip, moved away. If anyone feels they would be able to take up this important ministry would they please have a word with me as soon as possible so that I may tell them what is involved? Thank you for considering this.

God Bless.

CHURCH CLEANERS

Week by week a small band of committed volunteers gather at 8.30 am on Saturday morning to clean the church. We are, of course, deeply grateful to them for all they do throughout the year but their task would be so much easier if there were a few more of them!! For many hands make light work. Could you help? Please consider doing so.
