My Dear Friends,

Thursday of this week is the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord (also known as Candlemass). This day brings to an end the season of the Incarnation. There will be Mass here at 9.30 am - please note the earlier time slot - this is because it is also the day on which Mgr. John Arnold is to be ordained Bishop for our diocese. Thus our Mass must be slightly earlier than usual to allow me time to get to the Cathedral!

Because of the funeral on Friday morning, the traditional Blessing of Throats, for the feast of St Blaise, will be given at the end of Mass in the side chapel. Please make your way to the chapel as soon as the Mass is over.

Thank you for your generosity in the annual White Flower appeal. We were able to send almost £400 to SPUC for their important work.

Finally, it may well be that you are wondering about the new church lighting? Well the truth is that we are not quite finished! The new lighting for the sanctuary is to be installed (hopefully fairly soon) and when that is done the full effect can be switched on ....... so we all need to be a little patient - especially me!

God Bless.

CONFIRMATION CANDIDATES.

Our Confirmation candidates are reminded that their course re-commences on Monday evening at 6.30 pm in the church hall.

ST SWITHUN WELLS - RACE NIGHT.

The Friends of St Swithun Wells have organised a race night for Saturday 25th February and are looking for your support! Tickets will be on sale after the morning Mass today and fliers and further details will be available in the porch.

CTS PUBLICATIONS.

A whole new selection of CTS pamphlets have been placed in the racks in the church porch. These excellent booklets are well worth purchasing; they contain much Catholic teaching and wisdom. Do give them some of your time.
