Jesus Heals A Leper

Jesus, Friend Of Outcasts

To bring help to outcasts, Jesus himself
had to become an outcast and 'stay outside'
in places where nobody lived.

My Dear Friends,

This week sees the launch of the Diocesan "White Paper"; perhaps better named as "Communion and Mission". This document has been many months in the planning and I hope you will study it very carefully. There are summaries of the 'paper' available in the porch this weekend. Further to this the Cardinal writes:

I have just launched an important document which focuses on the pastoral priorities for our diocese in the next few years. These include prayer and liturgy, formation of lay people in faith and life, building of community, development of our parishes, and vocations. I sincerely hope you will not only read the small pamphlet that is available, but also think about it and reflect how you yourself might become involved as an active parishioner in your own parish.

There is also a booklet available* for Lent. This will help you to reflect on the five priorities mentioned above and I sincerely urge you to use it, either for your personal reflection or with other people.

May God bless you and your parish community,

With the above in mind I hope to lead a series of sessions during Lent, both during the day and in the evening, for us to look at these issues together. Do consider making time for this, for be assured, in the fullness of time these issues will affect us all.

God Bless.

* on sale in the porch for £1.00

CTS PUBLICATIONS.

A whole new selection of CTS pamphlets have been placed in the racks in the church porch. These excellent booklets are well worth purchasing; they contain much Catholic teaching and wisdom. Do give them some of your time.
