My Dear Friends,

I spoke at some length last weekend about the Diocesan "White Paper" and its importance in the life of our parish and community. If you did not manage to get one of the 'flyers', with its succinct resume of the paper, be sure to take a copy from the porch today.

Also available are the special Lent discussion booklets "Christ Among Us". These are for our use, both privately or in small groups, to look at the 5 themes highlighted by the report; and it is here that I would value your help.

In the first instance one such group will be meeting on the Friday evenings of Lent after the Stations of the Cross. Thus the Stations would be made at 7 pm, followed immediately by our time of discussion and study, all to end no later than 9 pm.

However I am aware that this does not suit everyone, so I would like to suggest a second time slot for those not wishing to come out in the evenings or with young children. How about the late morning or early afternoon? Perhaps you'd be so kind as to think about this and let me know so that the largest group of people in the parish can be involved in these discussions.

Lent begins on March 1st. If you would wish your "palm" from last year to be used for the making of the 'ashes' could you drop them into the church porch by next Sunday evening; many thanks.

Finally I am keen to see the foundation of a "Social Team" to look at ways in which we can get together as a family more often. If you could help out with something like this perhaps you would let me know?

God Bless.

CTS PUBLICATIONS.

A whole new selection of CTS pamphlets have been placed in the racks in the church porch. These excellent booklets are well worth purchasing; they contain much Catholic teaching and wisdom. Do give them some of your time.
