Ash Wednesday

Christ The Bridegroom

Today the love of Christ for his Church
is shown to be no less than the love of
a bridegroom for his bride. His love-letter
is written in every Christian heart.

My Dear Friends,

This week sees the beginning of the season of Lent. There will be two Masses with the imposition of Ashes on Ash Wednesday; one at 10 am and the other at 8 pm. Ashes will also be given at the school at 10.50 am.

During Lent there will be the usual Stations of the Cross on Friday evenings at 7.00 pm and the Blessed Sacrament will be exposed on the altar most Wednesdays from after Mass until after the lunchtime Angelus. Both are ideal opportunities to deepen our love for the Lord.

The Lent discussion groups will begin next week, definitely on Friday evenings after Stations of the Cross; and I am still waiting for suggestions about the weekday time. Please speak to me today about this.

Finally I would draw your attention to the Ecumenical service to be held on Friday at St Paul's church. This is the annual Women's World day of Prayer. Do give it your support.

God Bless.
