My Dear Friends,
The number of parents registering their children for the "Walk With Me" programme last Monday was much smaller than expected. In the light of that I felt I must just remind everyone why we run such a programme.
In the first instance the programme is there for children who unfortunately do not manage to secure a place at a Catholic school. The Church is very keen to help these families in the teaching of the faith to their children. Secondly it is a requirement of the Church that any child who wishes to make their 1st Communion has received 2 years of formal Catechesis - "Walk With Me" fulfils that expectation.
Every year there are children who get caught out by this rule and have to defer their 1st Communion, and this can cause considerable distress. So please, if your child falls into this category come along to "Walk With Me". See the weekly newsletter for the next session.
Friday of this week is the Autumn Family Fast Day, be sure to take an envelope with you after Mass today.
God Bless.
THANK YOU
Josie McFadden and her family would like to thank you all for your prayers, your love and compassion shown to them so abundantly during Charlie's illness and his return to the Father. As an expression of their thanks a Mass of Thanksgiving will be offered for you all on October 23rd at 10 am.
