The Harvesters

After The Harvest

The returns on our labours are a source of joy,
but not of idle self-congratulation. If we have worldly
goods in abundance it is that we may recognise
God's gracious care for us and do good to others
out of love - of Christ and of them.

My Dear Friends,

October is the month of the Holy Rosary and what better way is there for us to associate ourselves with the mission of the Church than to pray the Rosary each day during this month? The Holy Rosary is offered after every weekday Mass - why not stay on and join in?

This is also a very busy time of the year for school forms, especially for transfer into the secondary sector. It is of the greatest importance that I meet with parents who have such forms to sign, so that I know exactly whom I am signing for! Please do not hand them to me after Mass, either come to the presbytery this afternoon from 2 - 4 pm or ring me so that we can sort out an alternative time to meet. Thank you.

As I have done in previous years, I am hoping to start a series of talks for those who are either considering becoming Catholics or those adults who failed to make their Confirmation when they were growing up. The first of these talks will be on Sunday Oct. 23rd at 3 pm.

Friday of this week is the Autumn Family Fast Day, be sure to take an envelope with you after Mass today.

God Bless.

SECONDARY SCHOOL TRANSFERS

Fr. Dennis will be available in the Presbytery this Sunday afternoon from 2 - 4 pm to sign Secondary School Priests forms.

CONFIRMATION 2005/2006

Those wishing to make their Confirmation and who are in Year 9 at their school are invited to collect a form from Fr Dennis after Mass on Sundays. Applications will NOT be accepted after 23rd October.

ST. SWITHUN WELLS

The closing date for admission to St Swithun Wells School for pupils born between 1/9/2001 and 31/8/2002 has now passed. The school still has several vacancies that it is hoping to fill. Year 3 - 4 places, Year 6 - 1 place. If you are interested in your child taking up such a place please contact the school.

A.S.D.C. HARROW BRANCH

The Association of Separated and Divorced Catholics will be meeting at St. Gabriel's Parish Centre on Monday 3rd October at 8 pm. New members always welcome.
