Feast Day - October 13th

The Lord's Wedding Feast

In Christ Jesus, God fulfils all our needs,
as lavishly as only God can. All of us,
no matter how unworthy we may be,
are invited to the wedding feast of his Son.
We have only to enter.

My Dear Friends,

The month of November is dedicated to the Holy Souls. It is good that we remember our beloved dead each day during this month. As usual the names that you wish to be commemorated will be collated and placed at the altar. Please help yourself to envelopes and forms and return them as soon as possible to the presbytery.

As in previous years I am hoping to run a series of talks for anyone who is considering becoming a Catholic. These talks are also for any adults who failed to make their Confirmation at the traditional time and wish to do so now. The first of these talks will be next Sunday Oct. 16th at 3 pm.

At this time of the year we are always looking for extra leaders to help out with the Confirmation programme. Are you able to help? Please do think very seriously about this. I know that Barry Jansen would be very happy to fill you in on any details, so don't hesitate to get in touch with him on 01895 474622, or speak to me after Mass. Once again do consider helping out with this truly vital work. Many thanks.

Last Friday was the Autumn Family Fast Day. If you have remembered to bring back the CAFOD envelope you were given last weekend please place it in the collecting baskets at the end of Mass. A retiring collection will be taken up to facilitate this.

Mrs Gillian Harrington and her daughter Charlotte would like to say a very big thank you to all the people who supported them with their 'sponsored walk'. They were able to send £215 to the Breakthrough Breast Cancer charity.

God Bless.

SECONDARY SCHOOL TRANSFERS

Fr. Dennis will be available in the Presbytery this Sunday afternoon from 2 - 4 pm to sign Secondary School Priests forms.

CONFIRMATION 2005/2006

Those wishing to make their Confirmation and who are in Year 9 at their school are invited to collect a form from Fr Dennis after Mass on Sundays. Applications will NOT be accepted after 23rd October.
