The Lord of History

God is King. earthly rulers, political regimes,
are called by God to reveal something of His
power and majesty and his plan for the human
race. But they only hold their power for a day.
Our concern is not with them, but with God whom we worship.

My Dear Friends,

As in previous years I am hoping to run a series of talks for anyone who is considering becoming a Catholic. These talks are also for any adults who failed to make their Confirmation at the traditional time and wish to do so now. The first of these talks will be this Sunday at 3 pm.

At this time of the year we are always looking for extra leaders to help out with the Confirmation programme. Are you able to help? Please do think very seriously about this. I know that Barry Jansen would be very happy to fill you in on any details, so don't hesitate to get in touch with him on 01895 474622, or speak to me after Mass.

I am sure we have all, once again, been appalled by the suffering we have seen on our television screens this last week. The money we collected for CAFOD last weekend will go to help, but we shall also have a retiring collection after all Masses this weekend so that we may show our further compassion for our brothers and sisters in their pain and loss.

Further to the notice below about the special 40 Hours Devotion at the Cathedral there is a special notice in the church porch inviting anyone to "Come and Sing" at the concluding Mass on 29th October at 6 pm/ Do give it your attention.

Please note that on Tue 25th Oct. the resurfacing of the path from the car park to the church will begin. Naturally the path will be closed - about 3 days - we hope!!

God Bless.

QUARANT'ORE - FORTY HOURS DEVOTION - 27 - 29 October 2005

To conclude the year of the Eucharist, Westminster Cathedral will be holding a forty hours' devotion from 27 - 29 October. This will be a time of watching and devotion before the Blessed Sacrament. If you would like to sign up to watch, please contact Mary Maxwell on 020 7798 9181

NOVEMBER DEAD LIST

November is the month devoted to prayer for the Holy Souls. There are envelopes and prayer lists in the porch for your use. Please return them with your offerings for these Masses to the Presbytery.
