The Commandment of Love

Today, through the strength that Christ gives us,
we can celebrate with the joy of the Holy Spirit
that great commandment of love which once
had to be imposed on humanity under threat
of God's avenging anger.

1st Mass of Sunday with Children's Liturgy

My Dear Friends,

I am very pleased to welcome to our Sunday morning Mass, the Knights of St. Columba. As it says on their web site: "The Knights are an Order of Catholic Laymen dedicated to the Service of the Church and fellow man. The organisation exists to support the mission of the Catholic Church and at the same time to work for the spiritual and material good of its members and their families."

We do not have many members of the order in our local community, which is a great shame, the Knights will be in the hall after Mass and will, I know, be more than happy to answer any questions you might have.

Further to the notice below about the special 40 Hours Devotion at the Cathedral there is a special notice in the church porch inviting anyone to "Come and Sing" at the concluding Mass on 29th October at 6 pm/ Do give it your attention.

Please note that on Tue 25th Oct. the resurfacing of the path from the car park to the church will begin. Naturally the path will be closed - about 3 days - we hope!!

Finally, there is to be a Grand Christmas Draw on 18th December. If anyone has suitable things to be prizes could they please speak to Gillian at the Presbytery, as soon as possible.

God Bless.

QUARANT'ORE - FORTY HOURS DEVOTION - 27 - 29 October 2005

To conclude the year of the Eucharist, Westminster Cathedral will be holding a forty hours' devotion from 27 - 29 October. This will be a time of watching and devotion before the Blessed Sacrament. If you would like to sign up to watch, please contact Mary Maxwell on 020 7798 9181

ASSOCIATION FOR THE PROPAGATION OF THE FAITH

We cannot all be missionaries, but this Sunday the Church gives us the opportunity of joining ourselves to that great endeavour. There is a retiring collection after all masses for the work of APF.

NOVEMBER DEAD LIST

November is the month devoted to prayer for the Holy Souls. There are envelopes and prayer lists in the porch for your use. Please return them with your offerings for these Masses to the Presbytery.
