My Dear Friends,
Just another reminder that on Bank Holiday Monday (29th August) we shall be having our special parish 'working party'. This will help us to get everything ready for our festival day on September 4th, when once again we shall give thanks to Almighty God for the life and example of our patron, St. Gregory the Great. The working party will begin after Mass at about 10.30 am - drinks, and hopefully snacks, will be provided to sustain the workers!
I am sure that all of us have friends who have given up on their faith. LANDINGS, a very successful lay-led, parish based, programme designed to help inactive Catholics to return to the practice of their faith, are having a special 'workshop' for anyone interested in helping to run such a programme in their parish. Further details can be found on the church notice board in the porch. If you are at all interested in going along please speak to me as soon as possible.
God Bless.
ST. GREGORY'S DAY
As usual we shall be celebrating our Feast of Title on the Sunday nearest to the feast. Mass on September 4th will be at 11 am. During this Mass our Eucharistic Ministers will be re-commissioned and our 1st Communion Children will lead the Procession before Benediction at the end of Mass. Please make a note of the date and time now, and sign the lists in the porch if you can help out on the day with food or time! Many thanks.
ST. COLUMBA'S COLLEGE
Old Boys of the college are invited to a 50th Anniversary Dinner at the college on Saturday 3rd September. Please apply to Br. Paul Vaillancourt at 8 King Harry Lane, St Albans, AL3 4AW for further details
1st RECONCILIATION AND 1st HOLY COMMUNION
Parents of children hoping to make their 1st Reconciliation and 1st Communion in 2005/2006 are asked to collect a registration form from the church porch and to return the completed application to the Presbytery as soon as possible. These forms are for children who will be in Year 3 (or above) from September 2005.
