THE CALL OF MATTHEW

Our Sacrifice of Praise And Thanksgiving.

Our love of God is like the morning dew, it evaporates so quickly.
Today we renew our love and, approaching God with the sincerity
and faith of Abraham, we offer the one sacrifice of praise which gives glory to God.

Holy Hour
1st Mass of Sunday with Children's Liturgy

My Dear Friends,

This weekend brings to a close our Holy Communion season. There will be an extra Mass today at 12 noon when our youngsters will meet our Risen Lord for the first time in the Blessed Sacrament. Please pray for them during these important days and by your witness help them to be faithful at Mass so that they may draw ever closer to our Redeemer.

Such has been the support for the Make Poverty History campaign that our white sash is already over full. A couple more are available at the back of the church, there is also a new batch of the special "white bands" for you to purchase (£1) and wear.

By wearing one of these special bands, you're making a powerful statement that you want real action to end extreme poverty - for good!

Please note the times of Mass over the next few days. There will be NO morning Mass on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Everything will be back too normal on Friday!

God Bless.

VATICAN II - 40 YEARS ON

This wonderful series of talks continues at the church of the Sacred Heart on Tuesday evenings at 8 pm. This week: Dei Verbum. How Does God Talk To Us? Fr Luis Ruscillo, Diocese of Lancaster

MAKE POVERTY HISTORY

The Catholic Church is playing a leading role in the international effort to tackle global poverty during 2005. CAFOD are inviting us to be part of that campaign by signing a white sash, that will join thousands of others to be taken to the G8 summit in Edinburgh. Help Make Poverty History

RAYS OF SUNSHINE

On Sunday 26th June, Siobhan O'Brien, a young member of our congregation is going to be walking 8 miles in aid of the, Rays of Sunshine charity which raises money to bring a little sunshine into the lives of children who are disabled or terminally ill. She is looking for sponsorship; do give her your support.
