HELP TO MAKE POVERTY HISTORY

The Lord who is Kind and Full of Compassion

Our Lord has every claim to the title and majesty of kingship,
and yet he comes to us in humility and gentleness.
We pray that this spirit of Christ may also be in us.

1st Mass of Sunday with Children's Liturgy

My Dear Friends,

The Bishops of England and Wales have designated this Sunday as a special "Day for Life". They have done so to remind us that those who are sick or frail or simply elderly deserve our particular respect.

In our modern world this is often not the case and it is very significant that last weeks meeting of the British Medical Association decided not to make any statement at all about euthanasia, but to leave the decision with the politicians!! Heaven help us!

As Catholics life is precious to us, from the moment of conception to the natural moment of death. We must cherish those in the "Evening of their Lives" and give them our protection. With this in mind there will be retiring collection after all Masses this weekend to help fund the Linacre Centre - a Catholic institute here in London dedicated to defending just such vulnerable people. Please help if you can.

On Tuesday 12th July we shall be hosting the clergy and lay workers of the Deanery for lunch. If you can help our chef Sebastian out on that day it would be much appreciated. Please have a word with me as soon as possible.

Finally, the sign writer is, at last, coming to collect the large notice board. Is anyone able to help me take it down at 3 pm this Sunday?

God Bless.
