In times of great anguish, such as St Paul experienced,
Christ is always with us, calming the storm and bringing us peace.

My Dear Friends,
On 29th August we shall be having another parish 'working party'. This will help us to get everything ready for our festival day on September 4th, when once again we shall give thanks to Almighty God for the life and example of our patron, St. Gregory the Great. The working party will begin after Mass at about 10.30 am - drinks will be provided as always!
I am looking forward to being joined at the altar at the morning Mass on St Greg's Day, by Fr. Neville Luis, the brother of Mr Bernard Luis (Chair of Governors at St Swithun Wells), I am sure we shall make him most welcome.
During the summer I am always a little concerned that our daily Mass attendance will decline, but thankfully that is not the case. I do wonder however if these days are not also a great opportunity for us to begin to inculcate into our youngsters the tradition of going to Mass during the week as well? God is not simply for Sundays!!
God Bless.
ST. GREGORY'S DAY
As usual we shall be celebrating our Feast of Title on the Sunday nearest to the feast. Mass on September 4th will be at 11 am. During this Mass our Eucharistic Ministers will be re-commissioned and our 1st Communion Children will lead the Procession before Benediction at the end of Mass. Please make a note of the date and time now, and sign the lists in the porch if you can help out on the day with food or time! Many thanks.
