The Raising of Jairus Daughter

THE LORD WHO GIVES LIFE.

The Lord made us to live. Death is totally opposed to God,
who is life itself. And yet Christ accepted death in order that
we might live. He took our poverty to make us rich.

Holy Hour and Benediction

My Dear Friends,

It is always great to go on holiday, but it is always nice to come back home. It is good to be back, and I am most grateful to Fr. Edward for his time amongst us. I hope that we shall be able to lure him back! In particular I hope that he will be able to be with us next Sunday for our special Mass.

May I take the opportunity of this newsletter just to remind you that there will be NO 10 am Mass next Sunday, though no doubt some help will be needed with our festal preparations!

As mentioned in last week's newsletter the annual "Peter's Pence" collection, to aid the charitable works of our Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI, will be taken up this weekend.

Also to be handed out this weekend are the "Day For Life" leaflets. This initiative, which we are asked to think about today, was begun by the late Holy Father John Paul II, and focuses on some words by a disability activist, who said, "What is the use of access ramps to buildings, if I don't have access to life?" Pointing out a paradox in how disabled people are viewed in our society.

Be sure to take a leaflet home so that you may discover what the Catholic church is trying to do to address this paradox.

God Bless,

THE GOSPEL OF LIFE

LOOKING AHEAD.

On Sunday 9th July Fr. Dennis will be celebrating 25 Years of Ministry. The morning Mass will be at 11.00 am and will be followed by a parish lunch in the grounds of the church. Do make a note in your diary! Please note that there will be NO 10 am Mass on that day.

DON'T FORGET REFRESHMENTS IN THE CHURCH HALL AFTER THE MORNING MASS ON SUNDAY.
SEE YOU THERE!!
