The Good Samaritan

HIS WORD IS NEAR

We celebrate the nearness of the Lord to us his people.
He is the Good Samaritan who comes close to us
and heals us, raising us to life as his own body.

My Dear Friends,

Please note that the special Mass of Requiem for the repose of the soul of Fr. Michael Connor will be this Friday, the 20th, at 8 pm.

This Sunday afternoon we are looking forward to our Mass for those with special needs. I do hope that as many of us as possible will be coming along to this joyful celebration; there will be tea afterwards in the hall.

Also this weekend we shall be taking up the annual collection for Sea Sunday. This is chance for us to reach and support the ministry of the Apostleship of the Sea. The AOS reaches out to 1 million international seafarers who visit our country each year, 60% of whom are Catholics. Thank you for your generous support.

Monday afternoon at 2.30 pm there is to be the special Mass of Thanksgiving for the many years of service given to our school by Tom Campbell, our retiring head teacher.

We are very much looking forward to welcoming Tom and his family to this Mass. Please be aware that the seating will be limited as the children of St Swithun Wells school will also be in attendance. The principal celebrant will be Bishop George Stack who has particular responsibility within the diocese for Education.

Finally a reminder that the Churches Together in Ruislip are having their annual Songs of Praise this afternoon, further details in the porch.

God Bless.
