CHRIST, WHO FEEDS US.

Today we celebrate the new Elisha,

Holy Hour and Benediction

My Dear Friends,

As we gather for Mass this weekend a large candle burns in Lourdes for the life and witness our parish. About 1100 members of the Diocese of Westminster gathered with our Cardinal, for the annual Diocesan Pilgrimage. It was, I believe, one of the most joyful and prayerful pilgrimages I have had the good fortune to be part of.

No doubt many, many prayers were offered for families and friends and amongst those were my own for us here at South Ruislip. But we also looked further a-field and prayed, in a very focused way, for the needs of our world. It was good to reflect and pray together in love.

What was, once again, a particular joy to me, was to see the wonderful hard work that our youngsters do. Quite literally hundreds of them work as volunteers - the red caps - to help the disabled enjoy their time away. Everywhere you looked, there they were, pushing wheelchairs, laughing, joking and praying with the people in their care.

And my particular joy? Well, to see among them members of our own community!! God bless you for your faith and witness.

Looking ahead. On 28th August we shall be having another parish 'working party' around the church. This will be, in part, so that everything may be just so for our festival weekend the following week. Don't forget that the morning Mass on Sunday 3rd September will be at 11 am!!

God Bless,

1st RECONCILIATION AND 1st HOLY COMMUNION
