OUR FATHER IN HEAVEN

Christ has given us the power to become the
children of God. Copmare the timidity of

Holy Hour and Benediction

My Dear Friends,

As we gather for Mass this weekend a large candle burns in Lourdes for the life and witness our parish. About 1400 members of our Diocese gathered with our Cardinal, for the annual pilgrimage. It was, I believe, one of the most joyful and prayerful pilgrimages I have had the good fortune to be part of.

No doubt many, many prayers were offered for families and friends and amongst those were my own for us here at South Ruislip. But we also looked further a-field and prayed, in a very focused way, for the needs of our world. It was good to reflect and pray together in love.

What was, once again, a particular joy to me, was to see the wonderful hard work that our youngsters do. Quite literally hundreds of them work as volunteers - the red caps - to help the disabled enjoy their time away. Everywhere you looked, there they were, pushing wheelchairs, laughing, joking and praying with the people in their care.

And my particular joy? Well, to see among them members of our own community!! God bless you for your faith and witness.

Looking ahead. On 27th August we shall be having another parish 'working party' around the church. This will be so that everything may be just so for our festival weekend the following week. Don't forget that the morning Mass on Sunday 2nd September will be at 11 am!!

God Bless.

OUR PATRONAL FESTIVAL

2nd September 2007. Help is required in organising this special day. There will be a meeting in the hall at 8 pm on Monday 20th August for all who can help out. Do consider coming along. MANY HANDS MAKE LIGHT WORK!!

CHURCH CLEANERS

There is always need for more people to help clean the church on Saturday morning, but during the summer hols the need is even greater. Please consider giving of your time to this important task.

These forms are for children who will be in Year 3 (or above) from September 2007.
