BREAD FROM HEAVEN
Through Christ we have undergone what
St Paul calls a spiritual revolution and we
can no longer be satisfied with material things.
We need the food that comes from heaven, the
bread of life which we receive at this mass.

My Dear Friends,

At this time of the year many members of our parish family are away on well-deserved summer breaks. However, the negative aspect of this is that a number of our regular church tasks are crying out for helpers!

The first of these that springs to mind is 'church cleaning' the team is rather depleted at present, and although nothing gets overlooked, the volume of work is often hard. Could you come along for just an hour on Saturday morning to help? I can assure you of a warm welcome. Helpers arrive about 8.30 am. So please, if you can, just drop in.

Another area of concern is - 'meet and greet'. This is such an important ministry, handing out books and welcoming people. If you feel you can help on a regular basis please speak to me, and if there is no one in the porch when you arrive for Mass, do consider lending a hand. It is vital that we are a community that 'opens its doors' to all.

Weekday Mass attendance also declines a little, and although this is to be expected, the holidays do give us the opportunity of getting to Mass on the occasional weekday. God is not just for Sunday!

Finally, our Red Caps would like to take this opportunity to thank the many, many people who helped them get to Lourdes last week. Nearly £7,000 was collected - a wonderful amount.

God Bless.
