My Dear Friends,

it was wonderful to see such a superb turnout for the feast of the Assumption, the "Holy Day of Obligation." There was a truly magnificent attendance at our morning Mass and there were enough of us there in the evening for us to sing! As I said in the newsletter last week these days 'are one of the defining aspects of being a Catholic', and it is so good to see us supporting them.

Please note that there is NO Saturday morning Mass this coming weekend. I am due to assist at a wedding in Devon on the Saturday and of necessity I must leave on Friday afternoon to be there in good time. Fr Edward Obi has kindly agreed to com and say Mass in the evening.

It is just a fortnight now before our great festival day. There are lists in the porch asking for help with the catering on the day. Many thanks to those who have already signed up to help,

Further to this don't forget our working party around the church on the Bank Holiday! Thanks for helping out if you can.

God Bless,

1st RECONCILIATION AND 1st HOLY COMMUNION

Parents of children hoping to make their 1st Reconciliation and 1st Communion in 2006/2007 are asked to collect a registration form from the church porch and to return the completed application to the Presbytery before 10th September. These forms are for children who will be in Year 3 (or above) from September 2006.

THE FEAST OF ST. GREGORY ~ SUNDAY 3rd SEPTEMBER

SUNG MASS, PROCESSION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT AND BENEDICTION ~ 11.00 am

Parents of children who made their 1st Holy Communion earlier this year are reminded that it is their children's privilege to 'attend' the Blessed Sacrament. Parish party follows after Mass. Make a note in your diary NOW!
