"Take Up Your Cross And Follow Me"

CHRIST WHO OVERCAME THE RELUCTANCE OF THE FLESH

It comes as no surprise that the Prophet Jeremiah felt
reluctance to offer himself as a living sacrifice to God's will
because we experience the same reluctance to accept the cross.
But what consolation it is to know that Christ experienced the
same reluctance and had to struggle to overcome it.

My Dear Friends,

Next Sunday we celebrate the feast of St Gregory the Great - our patron. A special day when we have the opportunity to witness to our faith joyfully and well. In this way we are also encouraging others to think about their lives; and we pray that they too may come to love and worship the Lord Jesus Christ.

Truly this is an important day for our parish family. A chance for all of us to help to spread the Good News. The lists are still in the porch asking for food and practical help - let's make this a really wonderful day.

Next weekend also marks the beginning of our usage of the new English translation of the Mass.

To help 'ease us' into this challenging time I will start using the new translation from Tuesday of this coming week. Cards will be available to help us all (priest and people alike!) learn the new responses.

May the presence of the Holy Spirit at our worship make this a fruitful and blessed time and one which will enrich our worship of Almighty God.

God Bless.

Might I remind anyone who made their Confirmation earlier this year and has not collected their gift copy of "YouCat" a catechism written especially for young people, to do so after Mass. You can find them in the sacristy. Help yourself!
