ST. GREGORY THE GREAT.

This weekend we celebrate the life and example

My Dear Friends,

I must begin by thanking the band of helpers who came out last Monday to tidy up the church grounds for our day of festival. There was a truly joyful spirit amongst a tremendous amount of work was done.

With these thanks in mind, our Social Committee have worked very hard indeed to get everything ready for the weekend and I do hope that many of us will be able to help out during our festivities themselves? The tidying up at the end of the day also needs to be done!!

It is always a particular joy to see the children who made their 1st Holy Communion children earlier this year in all their finery! This is a great day for them; let us hold them, and all our community before God in prayer. Perhaps this is also a good opportunity to remind parents that next years forms must be in by the 16th September! May we continue to witness to our faith joyfully and well here in South Ruislip; and so bring others to love and worship the Lord Jesus Christ.

I do hope you all have healthy appetites for there will be an enormous amount of food to consume. As always the parish comes up trumps on such occasions. Let's have a holy and happy day.

This week sees the start of a new term and year at our school. We pray for all who will be beginning their school lives, and ask for God's blessing on all our staff and pupils; and in particular Mrs Jennings as she takes over as head. May our school be a place of joy and happiness with Christ at its heart.

God Bless.

A.P.F. - RED MISSION BOXES

Have you returned your red mission box yet? If you have, they are ready for collection in the porch. If you have not - it is not to late! Please bring them to Mass as soon as possible. If you would like to help the missions in this special way do take one of the unmarked boxes home.

THE MONDAY CLUB

Unfortunately we are having to look for a new co-ordinator for the Monday Club. If you are able to take on this important role speak to Fr Dennis or Gillian as soon as possible. If no-one comes forward it may be very difficult for the club to open, so please do consider this matter very seriously.

1st RECONCILIATION AND 1st HOLY COMMUNION

Parents of children hoping to make their 1st Reconciliation and 1st Communion in 2007/2008 are asked to collect a registration form from the church porch and to return the completed application to the Presbytery before 16th September. These forms are for children who will be in Year 3 (or above) from September 2007.

THERE IS COFFEE IN THE PARISH HALL AFTER THE MORNING MASS ON SUNDAY, DO COME AND JOIN US!!
