My Dear Friends,

Today we celebrate our 'feast of title', and give thanks to Almighty God for the life and example of St. Gregory the Great, and it is a particular joy to welcome "home" Fr Edi who is visiting the parish over the weekend. It is always wonderful to have him here with us. This is a great day for our community. May we continue to witness joyfully to our faith and so bring others to love and worship the Lord Jesus Christ.

I do hope that many of you will take the opportunity to admire Mr Peter Barker's new "gold" altar servers medal awarded to him at Walsingham by the Archbishop of Birmingham. Congratulations Peter. I wonder how many of our younger servers will be the proud possessors of such a medal one day?

Today also sees us using the new Mass! I have no doubt that we will make mistakes over the next weeks, but let us rejoice in the richness of this new translation and work to make it our own.

And finally many, many thanks to all those who have worked so hard to prepare for this day of celebration, let's make it a truly holy and happy one.

God Bless.
