The Exaltation of the Holy Cross ~ September 14th.

The Lord Who Does All Things well.

Today we celebrate our 'unbounded admiration'
of the Lord who makes no distinction between
people, but makes the poor rich in faith,
the deaf hear and the domb speak.

My Dear Friends,

Last Sunday was, as I had hoped, a wonderful parish celebration. The weather was glorious and the atmosphere of joy palpable! However it would be most remiss of me not to thank the Social Committee for all their hard work. They were here at 8.30 am and did not leave until nearly 5.00 pm! Truly a sterling effort.

Tuesday of this week sees the beginning of a diocesan 'Novena of Prayer' for vocations. Special prayer cards are available at the back of the church and the novena prayers will be offered at the end of every Mass. Please take a card and let us all focus in these coming days on the Church's need for more priests.

Today is 'Racial Justice Sunday'. We pray for racial justice in our lives, in our parish, in our diocese and in our land. 'Faith without actions is dead' says St James. Part of our response to this call, will be a retiring collection taken up to help the work of the Churches' Commission for Racial Justice. May our giving be generous and true!

Finally I would like to draw your attention to a most important petition (in the porch) about Abortion. As Catholics we are called to oppose such wickedness. Please take a moment to read the petition and sign up to show your support.

God Bless.

1st RECONCILIATION AND 1st HOLY COMMUNION

Parents of children hoping to make their 1st Reconciliation and 1st Communion in 2006/2007 are asked to collect a registration form from the church porch and to return the completed application to the Presbytery this weekend.
