My Dear Friends,

Barry Jansen has asked me to announce that as the "retiring" Confirmation coordinator he will be running a course on Sun. 14th Oct from 3 to 5.00pm for ALL those who would like to help this year - i.e. those who helped last year and are able to continue, and those who have spoken to me recently. Please let Barry know you're coming by entering name and contact details on the list in the Church porch.

Many of us were away when I wrote about coming forward to receive the Body and Blood of our Saviour Jesus Christ at Holy Communion. This is one of the most important moments in the whole of the Mass. It MUST be a time of prayer and stillness, an opportunity for us to meditate on what it is that we receive, and give thanks to Almighty God for his goodness to us.

Sadly this is not always the case. Recently I have been particularly distressed to see people chatting to one another in the queue! This is quite unacceptable I'm afraid. Please let us work together to make this a prayerful moment during which we may all appreciate the solemnity of God's gracious gift.

God Bless.
