My Dear Friends,
I want to begin this weekend by expressing my thanks to everyone who helped to make last Sunday afternoon's "Special Needs Mass" the success it was. It was a deeply moving occasion and I have no doubt that both Jamie and George enjoyed themselves enormously. It is so important that we give our prayerful and joyful support to those who all to easily can be ignored by our parish community.
Can I remind everyone that next Sunday we shall be - keeping the harvest, chance for us to rejoice and give thanks for God's generosity towards us. The CAFOD family fast day is this coming Friday so be sure to take an envelope home!
Important decisions are taken by parents at this time of the year with regard to the Transfer of their children into Secondary school; a letter about making this decision is available in the porch and in the school office.
This letter, which has been signed by Fr Duncan at Sacred Heart, Fr John at St Thomas More and by myself is all about the importance of Catholic education in the lives of our children. I commend it to you. Please read it carefully and prayerfully.

Application forms for Admission to the Nursery for children born between 1st September 2008 and 31st August 2009 are now available. Interested families are required to collect the relevant forms from the school office. Closing date for applications to be received into the school is noon Thursday 20th Octber 2011. Parents will be notified of the outcome of their application by Thursday 10th November 2011.
RACE NIGHT FOR "VISION AID OVERSEAS"
The Knights of St. Columba are hosting an exciting Race Night at The Sacred Heart on the 8th October. Entrance is free, but do please bring lots of betting money! There is a licensed bar. Starters orders 8pm. See you there!

Those wishing to make their Confirmation and who are in Year 9 or above are invited to collect forms from Fr Dennis after Mass. Please note that only those seeking to be confirmed may collect these forms. Applications will NOT be accepted after 30th October
