WE CELEBRATE GOD'S GRACIOUS GIFTS

AFTER THE HARVEST

The returns of our labour are a source of joy, but not of idle
self-congratulation. If we have goods in abundance it is that
we may recognise God's gracious care for us and do good to
others out of love - of Christ and of them.

Holy Hour and Benediction

My Dear Friends,

Our 10 am Mass this weekend is a celebration of the harvest. It is our opportunity to give thanks to Almighty God for his many gifts to us. In the light of His generosity we ask: How can I help to relieve the sufferings of those who have little?

An obvious answer is, of course, CAFOD. By giving to this well known Catholic agency we are assured that our giving is well used. There will be a retiring collection for CAFOD after all Masses this weekend.

The booklet of daily meditations, "Sharing in His Life" is still on sale in the porch. They cost £1 and are quite excellent. I do hope we will use them actively to foster prayer in our community. If there is a group of people who would wish to use the book communally for prayer and study, I would be very happy to give them my support and help.

Finally I would like to draw your attention to a special festival of Catholic culture to be held at Westminster Cathedral Hall on 3rd November. Admission is free. There will be displays of books, art, and music as well as guest speakers. There are flyers in the porch with more details.

God Bless.
