CHRIST THE SUFFERING SERVANT

Today we celebrate the Christ who gives meaning to all human
suffering. By taking on himself the role of a servant and
redeeming us by his sufferings, he has turned all our human
values upside down. It is the weak who have become strong.

My Dear Friends,

It is with great joy that we welcome Bp Alan Hopes to our parish community this weekend.

He is here to make an official "Visitation" to the parish and thus hopes to meet as many people as possible. Naturally he will meet formally with our catechists and others, but he will also be in the hall after the Saturday evening Mass, the 10 am Sunday Mass and the Special Needs Mass at 3 pm. Do come along and take the opportunity of speaking to him.

As mentioned last week, I am running a series of talks for those thinking about becoming a Catholic. These talks are also for anyone who did not make their Confirmation at the traditional time. The first "get together" will be on Sunday 1st November at 3 pm. (please note change of date - sorry about this!!).

Finally, this last week has been a wonderful and truly grace-filled time for our diocese. The presence of the relics of St Therese of Lisieux has brought many to re-examine their faith. Whether we managed to visit or not let us pray that like St Therese we may become love at the heart of the Church.

God Bless.
