CHRIST INTERCEDING FOR US

Christ who 'opened his arms on the cross' is like Moses
whose arms were raised in prayer for his people.
Today Christ asks us to join him in continual prayer
and never to lose heart.

My Dear Friends,

It is a great privilege for us to welcome Bp Alan Hopes to the parish this weekend to bless and dedicate the memorial to Fr Philip Dayer, the first parish priest of St Gregory the Great. It gives me equal pleasure to welcome Fr Dayer's family and I hope they will find the parish in good heart.

Last week saw the start of the 'Sharing in His Life' meditation booklets. A small group will be meeting each Sunday evening at about 7 pm in the church hall to pray together. If you are interested in being part of this, just come along.

On the 17th Nov, Richard our photographer will be here again to take family photos. Lists will be available after the 5.30 pm Mass and Sunday morning Mass, or you can ring Sue Harding to book a slot on - 01895 676100.

Finally today is World Mission Sunday and we remind ourselves that Jesus commanded us to make disciples of all nations, leading all people into knowledge of him. Being a missionary is not just the special call of the few, but the responsibility of us all. The mission of the Church is impossible without our help. There will be a retiring collection after all Masses to help with this vital task.

God Bless.
