My Dear Friends,

As people come into our church for Mass at the weekend, they are met by a wonderful group of volunteers who make them welcome, give them the books they need and answer any questions they might have.

This 'Ministry of Welcome' is a vital aspect of our community life, for a smiling face and a generous word is a marvellous beginning to parish worship. But sadly, we have recently lost some of this team as they have moved away and it is of the greatest importance that they be replaced - CAN YOU HELP!!!

The most critical need is for the Mass on Sunday evening. But volunteers would be made very welcome by the other teams as well. If you can help please speak to me as soon as possible - thank you.

This Sunday is peace Sunday, which offers us the opportunity to reflect on our Holy Father's message for World Peace Day. The full text may be read at www.paxchristi.org.uk. Pax Christi, an international Catholic movement for peace, which has a vision of a world where people can live in peace, without fear of violence; a vision to hold before us at all times, and to pray about especially this weekend.

God Bless.
