THIS IS PEACE SUNDAY

THE CHURCH'S BRIDEGROOM

The Church rejoices in her Bridegroom who will
cherish her, lavish upon her many gifts of his Spirit,
and transform her into a new creation

My Dear Friends,

I am quite sure that all of us have been deeply moved by the distressing images of the earthquake in Haiti that we have seen on our television screens over the last few days.

Such natural disasters challenge our understanding of God, but are also an opportunity for us to witness to our faith by our response to such need.

CAFOD - as a member of the Caritas Federation, the Catholic agency working in Haiti, are supporting their partners to assist with the relief effort, and so that we may be show our concern there will be a retiring collection after all Masses this weekend. Please do be as generosu as you can.

It is also Peace Sunday this weekend, which offers us all the opportunity to reflect on the Holy Father's World Peace Day Message. The full text, part of which I published in last week's newsletter, may be read at www.paxchristi.org.uk

God Bless.

P.S. Please note the alteration to the times of Mass for this coming week.
