My Dear Friends,
Next weekend, at all Masses, we shall be taking up the annual collection for the Sick and Retired Priests' Fund, and envelopes for this are available for you to take home from the porch this weekend.
There are already 90 retired priests in the diocese and 70 more are due to retire over the next ten years. These priests have given their lives to the Church and it is important that we pray for them as they grow older. But it is also important that we ensure that they receive the care and love that they require when they need it and thus this annual collection needs to be taken up. I do hope that you will consider this prayerfully and will be able to support it generously.
Further down the page you will see a notice about a special Mass to be celebrated later this month at the Sacred Heart. This is especially for anyone over 17, and I would encourage any youngsters from our community to go along to what promises to be an excellent evening.
Finally I would draw your attention to the times of Mass for this coming week. I am obliged, as the Diocesan Director of the Lourdes Pilgrimage, to be at the national assembly of directors on Tuesday and Wednesday. Gillian will be in the office as usual Monday to Thursday, 8.30 - 10.30 am.

Those wishing to make their Confirmation and who are in Year 9 or above are invited to collect a form from Fr Dennis after Mass from this Sunday. Please note that forms may only be collected by the candidate themselves, furthermore they must be resident in this parish - if in doubt speak to Fr Dennis. Applications will NOT be accepted after Nov. 11th
