My Dear Friends,
This weekend we are taking up the annual collection for the Sick and Retired Priests' Fund.
As mentioned last week, there are already 90 retired priests in the diocese and 70 more are due to retire over the next ten years. These priests have given their lives to the Church and it is important that we give thanks to God for their service. But it is also important that we ensure that they receive the care and love that they deserve and this is why this annual collection needs to be taken up. I do hope that you will consider this prayerfully and will be able to support it generously.
Further down the page you will see a notice about a special Mass to be celebrated later this month at the Sacred Heart. This is especially for anyone over 17, and I would encourage any youngsters from our community to go along to what promises to be an excellent evening.
Finally there will be a special Mass of Remembrance at 8 pm on Wednesday 21st November. This Mass, during this month dedicated to the Holy Souls, is to give us the opportunity of remembering, in a special way, those we have loved and lost. There will be an opportunity during the Mass to come forward (if you wish) and light a candle of remembrance for them before the altar of God.

Those wishing to make their Confirmation and who are in Year 9 or above are invited to collect a form from Fr Dennis after Mass from this Sunday. Please note that forms may only be collected by the candidate themselves, furthermore they must be resident in this parish - if in doubt speak to Fr Dennis. Applications will NOT be accepted after Nov. 11th
