CHRIST THE KING

Today we celebrate the universal King, Jesus Christ.
He did not claim to be only the King of the Jews.
His kingdom was not to be an exclusive one. He is King
of all who are on the side of truth and listen to his voice.

My Dear Friends,

On Wednesday and Thursday of this coming week there will be workmen in church doing some repairs to the concrete supports of the pews. This work must be done, but it will, inevitably result in some disruption and mess.

At this time of the year when the media is already 'hooked' on Christmas we start to think about those for whom Christmas may not be much fun. It is therefore a real privilege to welcome speakers from our own Diocesan charity - The Passage to speak to us today.

The Passage runs London's largest voluntary sector day centre for homeless people. Each day they help more than 200 homeless and vulnerable men and women.

Their mission is to provide resources which encourage, inspire, and challenge homeless people to transform their lives. It does this by providing a Day Centre, offering basic care, advice, pastoral care, education and hostel accommodation moving towards re-settlement and further steps to independence. There will be a collection at the end of Mass to help their work.

A number of concerned and committed parishioners are keen to form a Bereavement Visitor group within our communtiy. It may be that YOU are exactly the kind of person they are looking for! If you are interested in learning more about this important ministry do have a word with Fr. Dennis as soon as possible.

Finally do you want to be part of the parish Lourdes volunteers - the Red Caps? If so, speak to Fr Dennis or Luke Fenelon as soon as possible. 1st meeting - 2nd Dec.

God Bless.
