My Dear Friends,
It is once again our joy and privilege to be hosting a Mass for those with Special Needs here at St Gregory the Great this Sunday afternoon at 3 pm.
These truly inspiring celebrations remind us just how important it is for us as Christians to hold in prayer and fellowship those who have a particular cross to carry in their lives, and to hold them at the very heart of our community. I know that many of you will be there and look forward to seeing you there.
Today is also "Prisoners' Sunday". The gospel reading for today takes us to the cross where we see entwined the horror of a broken world being overcome by the wonder of the love of God. Jesus says to the penitent thief, "Today, you will be with me in paradise".
The challenge of the theme "Be with me" is to pray and work for all affected by crime and violence; the victim, the offender and their families and all prison staff. May all respond to the call of God and know the blessing of being with him and knowing His love.
God Bless.
