My Dear Friends,

Last weekend I spoke, at some length, about the 'Ministry of Welcome' in our community, and I am very grateful to those who spoke to me after Mass. However, sadly, they were not many! Do please consider if you are able to help out in this simple and important way - thank you.

In any parish the main focus of our prayer is the offering of the Mass, (and rightly so) and I am always pleased to see the number of people who come on weekdays. I wonder though, have "you" ever thought about making such a commitment? I can promise you it will enhance your week.

I would also like to draw your attention this week to our hosting of the "Women's World Day of Prayer" (see notice below). It is a great privilege for us to have this event here at St Gregory, and a wonderful way for us to show our commitment to the Unity of Christ's Church. If you are able to help, please let Gillian know as soon as possible.

Finally might I draw your attention to a petition in the porch relating to the closure in March of this year, of the Howlettes Lane respite care centre for children with disabilities, their parents and carers. This wonderful facility, which has been much commended for its work, needs our support to ensure that it remains open. Do consider signing the petition today!

God Bless.

DIOCESAN PILGRIMAGE TO LOURDES 2011

As usual the diocese will be going on pilgrimage to Lourdes at the end of July. Booking forms and brochures are now available in the porch.

THE FRIENDS OF ST SWITHUN WELLS SCHOOL
