"The Prodigal Son"

The Lord of Compassion and Love

We celebrate today the Lord who resolves
to free us from our slavery to sin, if only
we listen to his serious warnings to us to repent.

My Dear Friends,

Let me start by thanking you all for your wonderful generosity last weekend. The Lent Family Fast Day collection resulted in us being able to send £758 to CAFOD for their important and wonderful work. Thank you!

As from this week the Monday Club will meet from 2 pm and will close at 3.30 pm; members please note ~ and as always new church members are always very welcome to come along.

A new initiative to help our younger children begins this weekend. In the bookrack in the porch, (where the Sunday Mass books are also kept) they will now find a selection of books for them to 'take and return'. We hope this will not only help them to learn more about their faith, but will also help to focus their attention during Mass. Do take a look see!!.

I would also like to call to your attention a new series on the CBBC channel on weekdays from the 12th - 23rd of this month. Friends and Heroes - is a new series aimed at 6 - 10 year olds, and will be covering a whole selection of Old and New Testament stories. A full listing of programme times is in the porch. I intend to try and catch some of them, but will be very interested to discover what you think?

God Bless.

'LEARN TO BE FREE'

RED CAPS

The Red Caps would like to thank all those who supported and attended their Irish Night. It was a very enjoyable evening and a grand total of £1630 was raised. THANK YOU EVERYONE!

YOUTH GROUP

Due to low attendance, it has been decided to suspend the parish youth group. If there is anyone who is interested in taking on this monthly event, please speak to Rosemary or Gillian.
