THE LAW OF CHRIST

The law of Christ is unlike any man-made law:
it contains the hidden wisdom of God. It is a
law given by love, and can only be fulfilled by

Lourdes Reunion Mass and World Day of Prayer
for the Sick at Westminster Cathedral

My Dear Friends,

As most of you are aware I was away last week at the annual conference for Lourdes Pilgrimage Directors. It was, as always, a hectically busy few days, but also a real joy to be at Our Lady's Shrine. I mention this simply to assure you that you were remembered in my prayers and that a candle burns there for our parish family.

Further to this the booking forms for this year's pilgrimage to Lourdes are now available on line http://www.tangney-tours.com and are also in the porch.

Finally, a few months ago I wrote about the need for us to be more focused and prayerful during Mass, and this is one of the main reasons, given by the Holy Father, for the new translation of the Missal. As we move towards its launch, can I therefore take this opportunity to remind you that preparation is fundamental to our achieving these ends?

For example, the time before Mass is sacred and should be a time of grace filled prayerfulness. In addition we should move around as little as possible during Mass and focus on the glory of the sacrifice that is being made manifest before our eyes. As always I am truly grateful for your help with this - let us strive to give the greatest Glory to God.

God Bless.
