My Dear Friends,

Abp. Vincent will speak to all of us this weekend about the Season of Lent, and as always he has much of importance to share with us. The full text of his homily can be found on the Diocesan and Parish web sites and is well worth reading. Furthermore a few copies are also available in the porch as are the "Walk With Me" and the "Faithful Pilgrim" booklets that he refers to.

As always Lent will begin with two Masses at 10 am and 8 pm during which the Imposition of Ashes will be given. There will also be an informal liturgy of 'ashing' at St Swithun Wells at 11.30 am. Furthermore the Stations of the Cross will be made each Friday evening at 7 pm.

I do hope that we will all take the opportunity to be 'ashed' and pray that we may all keep a holy and prayerful Lent.

You cannot fail to have noticed the new South Ruislip Young People's Centre (opposite Sainsbury) which has just opened for business. I was at the launch party last week and have to say the facilities are amazing and well worth investigating.

There is to be a special opening event with a rock band very soonÉ.we were told! Anyway for more information call 020 8384 4160 or find them on 'facebook' - at the - Young Ruislip and Northwood page.

God Bless.

LENT 2011 - FAITHFUL PILGRIM + WALK WITH ME!

This Lent, parishes in the diocese will be using a brand new resource for faith-sharing groups. This resource - Faithful Pilgrim - will help us all explore the themes of the successful and joyful visit of Pope Benedict XVI to our shores. The booklets are priced at £1.50 and also includes daily prayers for individuals. Also on sale is the excellent daily prayer program "Walk With Me". Both are available in the porch.

CAFOD FAMILY FAST DAY

This is to be on Friday 18th March. The special offertory envelopes will be available after all Masses next weekend, but make a note of the date today!!

DON'T FORGET! THERE IS COFFEE IN THE PARISH HALL AFTER THE MORNING MASS ON SUNDAY.
SEE YOU THERE!!
