OUR TRANSFIGURED LORD.

Our natural inclination is to stay where we are,
to make a tent and settle comfortably. But God
is continually urging us on to a land he will show us.
We follow our transfigured Lord in faith,
putting our trust in Him.
He alone is our boast.

My Dear Friends,

Friday of last week was the CAFOD Lenten Family Fast Day, and I feel sure that many of us remembered those less fortunate than ourselves on that day. Almsgiving is an integral part of the Lenten journey whereby we show our concern for the needy. The retiring collection, for the work of CAFOD, will be taken up after all Masses this weekend, and for those who have remembered the special Fast Day envelope - please return it then.

On Wednesday morning after Mass there will be an hour of Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. This is a wonderful opportunity for private prayer, and even if you are unable to be here for the whole hour do consider popping into church to spend some time with our Lord.

Finally, as many of you know, I have been away this last week at the annual Lourdes Pilgrimage directors meeting. Truly it was a wonderful privilege to be at the shrine for the 150th anniversary of Our Lady's first appearing to St Bernadette. Be assured that you were all remembered in prayer at the Grotto.

God Bless.
