"The Transfiguration of Christ"

THE LORD IN WHOM WE PUT OUR TRUST

Like Abraham we are called by God to a new homeland.
We are not to rest in the material comforts of this world,
but to move onwards towards the land of promise, where
the Lord will transfigure our mortal bodies into the likeness of his glory.

My Dear Friends,

It is wonderful to see the extra weekday Mass attendance during this Lenten season, but I do wish that more of us could find the time to come and pray in front of the Blessed Sacrament on Wednesday or Saturday morning, and before the Stations on Friday evening. As I said last week it may be difficult to be there the entire time, but surely many of us could find 10 or 15 minutes to pop in and pray?

Similarly the attendance at the Friday evening Lent Study isn't great. Perhaps the time is inconvenient? If another evening was more suitable I would be more than happy to rearrange things.

Last Friday was the family fast day. It was wonderful to have speakers with us last wekend to talk about the vital work that CAFOD does. They invited us to fast as an act of solidarity with the poor and to donate what we have saved to help the disadvantaged of our world. Our Family Fast Day envelopes will be taken up at the end of Mass this weekend. Thank you for your generosity.

God Bless.
