"The Parable of the Fig Tree"

THE LORD OF COMPASSION AND LOVE

We celebrate today the Lord who resolves

My Dear Friends,

The Family Fast Day collection resulted in us being able to send £900 to CAFOD for their important and wonderful work. Thank you so much!

Next Sunday is "Mothering Sunday" when we look forward to celebrating our three 'mothers'. Our own dear mother, our Mother the Church, and our Blessed Lady - mother to us all.

We will also have a very special guest with us next Sunday - Fr. Peter Walters, the founder of the charity "Let The Children Live". Fr. Peter first became involved with the street-children of Medellin in 1982 when they helped him after he became stranded in Colombia. You may wish to read more at www.letthechildrenlive.com

Fr. Peter writes: "We recognise that the phenomenon of the street-children is the product of complex social problems to which there are no easy answers. Our aim is to support the Colombian people as they take the initiative in caring for the most disadvantaged of their children. They are making the most of their limited resources, but they need support for this work to continue and grow. Because the children have no one, they really belong to us all. Unless we help them, these children will remain 'disposable ones': throwaway kids with no future at all."

Fr Peter will speak at all Masses and will visit our school on the Monday. I am sure we will make him very welcome.

God Bless.
