"THE ADVENT WREATH"

WAITING FOR THE LORD

Our life is a long vigil, waiting for the Lord to be
revealed in all his glory. We wait with longing and
with 'joyful hope', for his Spirit is with us,
and we know that God is always faitfhul to his promises.

My Dear Friends,

This weekend see the formal 'reception' of the New Order of Mass into the Church and our new Altar Missal will be blessed for use. Getting used to the new 'form' remains challenging but is allowing us to rediscover many of the riches of our faith.

Also this weekend sees the start of the Advent season - our journey towards Christmas. The advent wreath will be blessed, but also the image of La Posada which will then begin its journey of prayer around the parish. It is not to late to be part of this wonderful initiative, an initiative that will help us to prepare more spiritually for the true meaning of the Incarnation, which can all to easily be swallowed up, and even forgotten in our material world. If you wish to be included speak to me after Mass, or the parish office, or Claudia or Debbie, as soon as possible.

Finally, the Advent "Walk with Me" booklets are on sale in the church porch. They cost just £1 and are truly excellent. Apart from daily reflections there are a number of 1st class articles. Buy your copy today!

God Bless.
