The Advent Wreath

The Joy Of Salvation.

We celebrate the marvels God has worked for us in sending
us his mercy and forgiveness, and calling us to share his glory.
We await with joyful hope that
"Day of the Lord"
when his work in us will be complete.

My Dear Friends,

Please note that Mass on Tuesday will be as usual. As you know I had hoped to be at St Chad's in Birmingham for the installation of Abp. Bernard, but this is not going to be possible. So the Feast of the Immaculate Conception will be celebrated at 10 am - as usual. Sorry to have meesed you about!!

On sale in the porch this weekend are the new parish diaries for 2010 (£1) as well as the new Diocesan Year book (£4) Please put all monies for these items in the porch wall safe.

This Sunday evening 23 young members of our community, who wish to receive the Sacramenf of Confirmation next summer, will come to be enrolled, please keep them in your prayers.

The hymnbooks are in a very dilapidated condition and need to be replaced. The parish Finance Committee would like to offer you the opportunity to sponsor a book dedicated to someone you wish to be prayed for and whose name will be inscribed inside. If you wish to be part of this imaginative scheme, please get in touch.

God Bless.

ST GREGORY'S SENIOR CITIZENS CHRISTMAS LUNCH

Tuesday 15th Dec at 1pm. Please contact Gillian at the Presbytery between 8.30am and 11.30am if you would like to attend our Christmas lunch. Numbers must, of necessity, be limited to avoid overcrowding so be sure to get in touch as soon as possible.

CONCERT OF CAROLS AND READINGS

in Aid of The Lourdes Pilgrimage, St James's, Spanish Place. December 21st. Concert begins at 7.30 pm. Tickets (£7) will be available at the door on the night. This is a truly splendid occasion.

PARISH CAROL SERVICE

Sunday 20th Dec at 3 pm. A traditional service of Carols and Readings, to be followed by a get-together in the hall. DO COME ALONG!!

"BUY A BAUBLE"

A group of youngsters from our parish are travelling to Lourdes to volunteer as Red Caps next July. If you would like to have someone remembered whilst they are there, how about buying a bauble for £5. The name of the person you want prayed for will be written on the bauble and placed on our Christmas tree. The youngsters will take the names with them to Lourdes and they will all be remembered at the Grotto. Letters will be given out after mass with full details.

DON'T FORGET! THERE IS COFFEE IN THE PARISH HALL AFTER THE MORNING MASS ON SUNDAY.
SEE YOU THERE!!
