My Dear Friends,

This Sunday afternoon we shall be having our Christmas Carol Service at 3.30 pm and this will be followed by a mince pie and the grand draw in the parish hall! I do hope that a number of us will be able to come along for this delightful service as part of our preparation for Christmas.

At the beginning of each new Christian year people are frequently disappointed when they come to get a Mass booked for a loved one and find that the date has already been allocated.

Unfortunately, in a busy parish such as ours, this is a constant problem. So if you wish to get a specific date for a weekend Mass you most get in touch at least 3 months in advance, and even then the date cannot be guaranteed! Weekdays are somewhat easier, but even then forward planning is essential.

This weekend we shall be taking up at all Masses, the annual collection for "Sick and Retired Priests". It is so important that we care for those faithful priests who have served us over many years ~ thank you for your generosity.

God Bless.

CHRISTMAS SERVICE

Be sure to take home with you after Mass this weekend one of the PINK leaflets with all the Christmas services on it. You will also find on there the times of Confessions before the feast.

A DEANERY SERVICE OF RECONCILIATION

Confession should be an integral part of our Christmas preparations! To help us with this, there is to be a special service of Reconciliation on Tuesday evening of this week at the church of the Sacred Heart. Preacher: Bp. John Arnold ~ Time of Service 7.30 pm.

"BUY A BAUBLE"

As you know, a group of youngsters from our Parish are travelling to Lourdes to volunteer as Red Caps next July. If you would like to have someone remembered whilst they are there, how about buying a bauble for £5. The name of the person you want prayed for will be written on the bauble and placed on our Christmas tree. The youngsters will take all the names with them to Lourdes and they will all be remembered at the Grotto. Please put the name(s) and donation in an envelope and send in to Presbytery as soon as possible

DON'T FORGET! THERE IS COFFEE IN THE PARISH HALL AFTER THE MORNING MASS ON SUNDAY.
SEE YOU THERE!!
