Holy Hour and Benediction

My Dear Friends,

This weekend we shall be taking up our annual 'white flower' appeal. This annual collection allows us to do something to assist the Society for the Protection of the Unborn Child, who are working to wipe out the wickedness of abortion in our 'civilised' society..

Next Sunday is peace Sunday, which offers us the opportunity to reflect on the Holy Father's World Peace Day Message. The full text may be read at www.paxchristi.org.uk.

Pax Christi, the international Catholic movement for peace, has a vision of a world where people can live in peace, without fear of violence in all its forms; a vision to hold before us at all times, and to pray about especially next weekend.

Today also marks the end of the formal Christmas season. If anyone is able to help after the Sunday evening Mass with the taking down of the tree, it would be much appreciated. The task should take no more than 30 minutes if there are a few of us to do it. If you can, please pop along at 7 pm.

The crib will remain until the feast of the Presentation.

Finally I would also like to draw your attention to the time of Mass this coming Wednesday. My mother has an urgent hospital appointment that morning so Mass will have to be at 9.30 am rather than 10 am so that I may take her there; I feel sure you will all understand.

God Bless.

"RED CAPS"

If you are hoping to be one of the parish volunteers next summer then you must fill in a booking form as soon as possible. Only in this way can we hope to be in the same hotel! Hand in your completed form to the presbytery as soon as possible!

DIOCESAN PILGRIMAGE TO LOURDES

2008 is the 150th Anniversary of Our Lady's appearing to St Bernadette, and is therefore a highly significant year for the shrine at Lourdes. As usual the diocese will be going on pilgrimage there at the end of July. If you are interested in joining our parish group be sure to take a booking form home with you today.

DON'T FORGET! THERE IS COFFEE IN THE PARISH HALL AFTER THE MORNING MASS ON SUNDAY.
SEE YOU THERE!!
