My Dear Friends,
I'd like to begin today by wishing you all a truly blessed Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year.
Let us remind ourselves, on this Christmas Day, that we must all work and pray together to announce the news of the birth of Jesus Christ, Redeemer of the world and source of all joy. A joy that is to be reflected in our lives, especially at this time of year and which, in that simple way, is a wonderful witness to the Christ in the manger. And with that in mind I'd like to share some thoughts with you today from our Holy Father in Rome:
"Christmas brings joy and peace to those who like the shepherds in Bethlehem hear and heed the words of the angel: "Let this be a sign for you: you will find a Child wrapped in swaddling clothes lying in a manger". This is still the sign for us men and women of today. There is no other!"
Let us recognise this wonderful truth anew in our lives during the coming year, and may we celebrate a truly joyful and happy day today.
God Bless.

FEAST OF ST STEPHEN - BOXING DAY
The day after Christmas Day is St Stephen's Day - the patron saint of altar servers. We are very blessed here at St. Greg's to have a faithful number of servers. This is the day when those who have been training to become altar servers are formally enrolled and receive their medals. Do come and support them and join us for a cup of coffee and a mince pie (if you can face just one more!) after the Mass of Enrolment at 12 noon on Boxing Day.
THE GIVING TREE
iHas once again been wonderfully supported this year. Thank you for your generosity and kindness. Special thanks to Theresa Sullivan, her family and her team of helpers for their work in collecting and distributing the mountain of gifts.
